LITTLE DOG RESCUE SOCIETY

We are a BC Non Profit Society based in Surrey, BC. We are dedicated to rescuing small homeless dogs in both California and Mexico. In California the animal shelters are currently overflowing and it is at a all time crisis level where even small adoptable dogs are in danger of euthanasia in just a few days.

We rescue small dogs from Hualtulco, Mexico where we have partnered with an amazing dog shelter there, Huellitas de Acero A.C. Puerto Escondido. Mexico has stray dogs roaming and unfixed, leading to a large population of dogs. Many dogs are tied up by wire around their neck, to a fence or a tree outside. When owners no longer want a dog they just put them on the street to fend for themselves, even small ones.

Nothing is more rewarding then to see these homeless dogs go into loving homes here in BC, where their little lives are changed forever! They are spoiled by their foster and adoptive family with walks, toys, friends, love, and good nutrition. There is a large demand for small dogs here. We do not rescue large dogs as we already have so many big dogs in our BC shelters here.

All of our adult dogs are vetted including sterilization, a vet check up, a microchip, vaccinations as well as deworming and flea/tick medication. We include sterilization also for young puppies, which is done here at a later date. We also give a leash, harness and a collar also for each adoption.

We offer a two week trial adoption to be sure of the right fit for the dog and you, the adoptive family.  We also offer a drop off/pick up at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal for approved Island adopters.

    PLEASE CONSIDER A SMALL DONATION
Our adoption fee pays for  transport, basic vet fees, spay/neuter, vaccinations, examinations, microchip, and foster supplies. We often encounter more expenses such  such as blood work, dental cleaning, x rays, ear infections antibiotics, and sometimes surgery. Recently a dog needed $4,000 for surgery, and another dog had an abdominal hernia repaired. Vet bills add up quickly for rescuers! If you wish to give a small donation please etransfer to littledogrescuesociety@gmail.com or call directly to our Cloverdale veterinarian at 604-574-0134 and add it to Little Dog Rescue Society's account. That would be very appreciated!!
